This may seem like a silly thing to many of you, but as of today, Elly has graduated to the big girl club at the pediatrician's office! She no longer needs to be seen every six months (or more frequently), which also means no more vaccines that often, and, this is my favorite, I don't have to strip her down to her diaper every visit! Elly does have to return on/after the 26th for her Hep A vaccine, but other than that, she's done with so many shots on a regular basis. She was super well behaved and very cooperative today. The last couple of visits have been "traumatic" for her, so I was very relieved for her to have realized that the dr is an okay guy. She is still in the 75th percentile for height, below the 50th for weight (Mike's genes just Mike overtake mine!!!!) and her "little" head remains in the 90th percentile. Ivie was seen to, but just to make sure her ear infection was completely cleared up, and it was. We were talking at lunch about going to the doctor and that little stinker really remembers her dr well. She pointed to her upper lip and asked what he had there, a mustache (just like Pop). She also told me that her dr "takes care of me and Elly". How sweet is that! I am so glad that she realizes seeing the doctor is not a bad thing, he just wants to help her be healthy and feeling fine!
Elly had another great speech session today. She used a 2 word sentence "more ball" when playing with L. Oh, Elly's dr put in a referral for her to have her hearing checked (I don't really think her hearing is an issue, nor does L) just so we can be sure that isn't affecting her speech at all. L was glad for that, just to be safe.
Mike phoned this morning. Elly and I had just walked in the door from running a couple errands and I was delighted to answer and hear Mike on the other end. he's still at his outpost and keeping very busy. He sounded good, although tired, and said he's doing fine. In addition to all his missions and other duties, he has 2 new guys (new as in straight from basic and new to him) under him. So that just adds to his work load. He really needs his own computer over there to keep on top of his team leader responsibilities and so I think we're going to be purchasing our new MAC when he returns for R&R. I am insanely excited about that.
I have managed to accomplish a lot around the house this week; my pregnant body isn't too thrilled with the extra work I've been doing, but I am so relieved that I've done so much. I'll definitely need a laid back weekend, but am starting to admit to myself that I really am losing my energy and my body is just not capable of keeping up with my nesting urges quite as much as I'd prefer. On that note, I really should retire to my bed so I can get some good sleep and be ready for all that tomorrow has in store for us (hopefully not much)!
