Well, I did it. And, thankfully, I had some help along the way. The girls room is finished. I still have a few little things to finish up; cleaning up the Styrofoam balls for the bed packaging (been working on that since yesterday, silly little things), getting all the girls' clothes in the closet and we're still waiting on 1 dresser (it arrived broken, so one is on back order for us) which probably won't arrive until the beginning of April. I feel a little overwhelmed with everything that's in there because the beds/dresser is huge. Everything looks tiny in a showroom, right? The dresser is almost as tall as I and the bed seems to go to the ceiling (duh, it's a bunk bed). It's so beautiful though, a lot more so than I expected it to be.
The walls aren't as shockingly pink to me, and I think adding the furniture to the room helps. Ivie is in love with the pink walls, she even thanked me for painting them pink. Elly seems to really enjoy playing in there too. This is Ivie's second night in her new bed in her new room. She seems to be doing just fine, Elly too, with being alone in their rooms. They actually fall asleep more quickly and now causes me great wonder about what it's going to be like when they share a room again! I'm just not ready for Ivie to be on the top bunk, as much as she wishes I'd let her, so for now, the girls have their own rooms. I'm still planning on finishing the baby's room within a month (probably less), but Elly will be just fine in there. I am going to move her into the big bed in there so she can be used to that when it's time to join Ivie in their room.
I am purely exhausted. I think about all I did in such a short amount of time these past few days, and am sooooooooo thankful for the energy that God gave me and very, very happy with the end project.
I put a few pictures on our flickr site, so be sure to check them out. I had to use the camcorder to get the pictures so the quality isn't the greatest (like any of my photos are) but I'll get some more/better shots after the camera's battery is fully charged.
It's time for me to just sit and veg, and probably fall asleep on the couch, again. I need to rebuild my energy level so I can finish our boy's room!
