Howdy!
Mike is spending another night at work tonight. I've seen him for only 15 minutes since he left the house this morning. But, I understand that they are very busy preparing for Cali. He had a goo but hard day today at the railyard tying down all the big stuff. Good news is that he has tomorrow off! I am sure he'll be sleeping for most of the day, but he'll still be home!
Ivie and I had a good day today. She had cottage cheese for the first time and seemed to like it. She has really got this "crawling" thing down. She will see something she wants and just go, go, go until she gets there. Most of the time she is stopped before she can actually touch it though. I am not sure why little ones seem drawn to things they shouldn't play with! She made it into the kitchen for the first time today. She thought she was hot stuff. Just before she went through the doorway, she stopped, turned towards me and grinned, then took off! She found the door stop and had a great deal of fun with that. She shakes her head no, although she doesn't understand what she's doing, she just shakes it. She has also started to clap and LOVES "If you're happy and you know it"! I really am so fortunate to be able to stay at home with her. I have so much fun with her!
I have just recently taken over the position of Point of Contact for 2nd platoon for the FRG (Family Readiness Group). I will be contacting spouses about upcoming events, relaying info between them and the Captain's wife and helping out as needed. I am looking forward to this because Iit'll keep me busy, but not too much, and allow me some interaction with other spouses whose husbands are away. FRG's can be a little shady sometimes, just in the sense that a lot of women can get together and gossip and such, (ours hasn't been like that, so far) so I am hoping to have a positive influence on those around me. This also allows me the oppurtunity to stay "in the loop" with regards to what's going on with the guys, which I like. Not to mention that all of this I can do without having to sacrifice time with Ivie!
