I was catching up on the few blogs I follow and was so excited to read Sarah's title- "Scott's Home!!!" Scott, her brother, has been in Iraq for 13 months and has come home. I know in my last post I was a bit frustrated, to say the least, about just dealing with Mike being away and missing so much of our life here. But, after reading Sarah's post, I was filled with such joy and excitement at the thought of her brother being home. She had a few pictures of his welcome home ceremony and the feelings from Mike's last Welcome Home ceremony began to swell inside my heart.
Sarah wasn't able to make it to her brother's welcome home ceremony, but her parent's did. Now I cannot even begin to imagine how those two must have felt seeing their "boy" back in the states, but I can imagine they were full of joy. For me welcoming home my husband, it's sheer excitement, relief, a little bit of nervousness and the feeling I got when we first started dating, then married.
It was such a blessing for me to read that, especially after my difficult time over the weekend. It just reminded me that an end to this deployment is near, and we will soon be a family in the same home again.
To you Sarah, thanks so much for sharing with me one of the greatest sites I've ever experienced- a soldier coming home to his family.

Thanks Meghan. I can't wait until it's your day again!
I can't imagine having your hubby gone so much - especially with three littles at home. Praying for your little family - for peace and the quick passage of time until you feel "whole" again. :)
