Mike phoned this afternoon, about 1:00pm, to let me know he was sitting at the Baghdad airport awaiting a flight to Kuwait. It's finally hit me that he could be home as early as Friday. But, until he gets to Kuwait he doesn't have an itinerary so it does me no good to assume I'll see him within the next few days.
I've done a better than usual job at keeping my week busy in preparations for his upcoming return (to help pass the time) and I am completely exhausted. I've only managed to clean half the house and do just a few loads of laundry in between my busy-ness and tomorrow isn't looking too promising for accomplishing much more around the house. I'm leaving to take Ivie to school in the morning and will be lucky to see the inside of my home before dinner! But, part of my day is some much needed pampering; a haircut and a pedicure.
Please keep Mike in your prayers as he will have a few long travel days ahead of him, and for me and the girls as we work on preparing ourselves for his arrival. I've told Ivie that daddy is waiting for his airplane to come and bring him home for vacation and she seems to understand that rather well. Although she did have a few questions about whether or not we would be flying to see daddy, if we would go to the moon and see aliens or if we would fly to heaven to see Jesus. I told her, for now, daddy will be flying on an airplane to us, no aliens and we'll see Jesus when He's ready for us. Sometimes I just wish I could spend a day inside that little, busy brain of hers and enjoy all the whimsical and innocent thoughts she has.
Okay, I need to head to bed. I honestly don't know what the next few weeks will hold for us, especially for me making it here, but I'll do my best. Ya' never know, I just might be a mama to three before I make it back here!
