Well, it seems that the rest of the week will be a busy one, at least around the house. Word has it that we need to get the house in order, just in case a jet plane with a bunch of digital green guys makes it here on time. So, I probably won't post for a week, or so. But, for your reading pleasure, I'm posting you a copy of my 25 Random Things from my Facebook page. Some of you may already have read it (sorry for the repeat posting) others- enjoy!
1. I am currently living in fear of a blue marker that is lost in my home with no lid. (update, I have located and re-capped said marker- fear no more!)
2. My husband and my children are my everything. I cannot imagine life without them.
3. Family is very important to me, so much so that any friend I have needs to share the same value.
4. I cannot parallel park. I will walk blocks to avoid even having to try.
5. I love my Honda Odyssey. She is my dream vehicle. She still needs a name and I am tossing around Big Blue and Rocket Dog.
6. Cathy is my BFF. I cannot imagine having to go through life without her; I would marry her if I could.
7. I wish I could spend more time with my mother-in-law, Gretchen. She is such a cool cat.
8. I want to visit my brother-in-law, Craig, in LA and experience just a portion of his incredibly, insanely, cool life.
9. LA and other giant cities fill me with an overwhelmingly amount of anxiety.
10. I nearly died giving birth to my first born due to a careless mistake made by my anesthesiologist (she later falsified my medical records to cover her mistake).
11. I cannot stand my children being messy, but I think it's silly when Elly uses markers to tattoo herself and apply make-up.
12. I think it's funny that Mike gets squirmesh when Elly and Ivie say "penis".
13. I love to shop, especially for shoes and Silpada jewelry.
14. I am, for the most, part a savvy shopper (I purchased my gown for the next ball at Dillards for only $25).
15. I spent $50 on a "Welcome Home Daddy" outfit for Elly (I said for the most part).
16. I first met Mike while he was in High School, working part time in the restaurant I managed.
17. I am devastated to have to leave my BFF this summer, but look forward to all that God has in store for us at Ft. Campbell (hopefully it'll be a house right away so we don't have to be homeless).
18. I don't think women have any business serving as 11B (Infantryman) and wish there would also be size minimums for the boys (you'd feel this way too if your 6'4", 220+# husband had to rely on a 5'4", 125# pipsqueak to save his giant self in dangerous conditions).
19. I truly love being a stay at home mother, couldn't imagine my life any other way, but worry others look down on me because I don't have "higher aspirations".
20. I am intimidated by brains and beauty. The combination makes me feel like a plankton.
21. I love that my little man is a Mama's Boy, but hope he outgrows it before starting school.
22. I can see how birth order plays out in my children and the similarity to myself and siblings it's almost too much to bare.
23. I have 6 tattoos (all can be hidden if needed) and would love more.
24. I wish more people understood just how difficult being an Army wife/child is could be more empathetic (but NEVER saying I understand what you're going through) of all that we endure.
25. Despite the difficulties that come with the title, I wouldn't be the gal I am today if I weren't an Army wife and I can't think of a better environment to raise our children so they may be compassionate, flexible, understanding, loving, independent, Godly, well-rounded children/teenagers/adults.
